MJ Broadbent

At GE, the world’s premier digital industrial company, MJ leads an experience design team focused on data visualization and analysis that connects minds with machines via Predix, GE’s Industrial Internet platform. Prior to moving to the SF Bay Area to join GE Digital, MJ was an independent design consultant in NYC working with clients including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the College Board, Johnson & Johnson, The McGraw-Hill Companies (including Standard & Poor’s), Pfizer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Sony Electronics, and the United Nations, along others. MJ’s involvement with IxDA began nearly a decade ago: she spearheaded NYC local event programming (2008-2009); co-chaired the Interaction11 conference (2010-2011); served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer (2011-2014); and co-chaired the Interaction Awards (2015-2016). An evangelist for drawing, sketching, and the power of visual explanations, MJ coaches people in reclaiming their innate drawing skills through instructional workshops of her own design.
