Barb teaches design at Algonquin College’s Mobile Application Design/Development program in Ottawa, Canada. To support the needs of the engineering students who make up most of the program, Barb has developed an entirely different set of teaching objectives and strategies to prepare them to contribute towards good design outcomes in the larger scope of cross-disciplinary teams. Barb’s day job is UX Lead at Shopify, where she tries to make commerce easier for people. She as also been co-chair of Ottawa’s wildly successful CanUX Conference for several years.
